“Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it”. ~Ernest Holmes
Have you ever started the day off on a bad note? Maybe you stubbed your toe getting out of bed. Then there was no hot water when you went to the shower. You were running late and there was more traffic than you anticipated. At that point you knew that it was going to be a bad day, you claimed the day and your thinking determined how the rest of the day would be.
Negativity can be pervasive and insidious. That is why it is extremely important to guard our minds as if our lives depended on it, in some cases it does. Many of us do not realize that thoughts are things, and once we put action behind those thoughts, they can and in most cases do become a reality. If we determine from the moment we get out of bed that it is going to be a bad day, then we have pretty much set the course for the day. If we only knew the power of our thoughts, we would understand how much control we had on certain outcomes in our lives.
Think of your mind as a garden. Know first and foremost that you have to properly prepare the soil when planting a garden. Mentally, this means to you must prepare your mind for what information comes in as well as what goes out. There are some things that need to be retained and some things that need to be uprooted. Remember this, what you feed will grow what you starve will die. You must decide if you want to feed negativity or positivity. The choice is yours.
Next, you add the seeds. What seeds are you planting in the garden of your mind? Good, healthy, productive seeds, or negative, unfruitful, destructive seeds? What are you using to fertilize the garden of your mind, joy, peace, happiness or doubt, pessimism, despair or regret?
Remember, what you feed will grow, what you starve will die. It is up to you to produce flowers or weeds in your mind. It is up to you to determine what will grow in the garden of your mind and how you will maintain and sustain your mind. Your thoughts are extremely powerful.
